Digvijay Singh faces complaint for Ramdev remark
January 19th, 2012 - 7:43 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, Jan 19 (IANS) A complaint was filed Thursday against Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh in a court in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad city for allegedly describing yoga guru Baba Ramdev as a “thug”.
“I have filed a complaint against Digvijay Singh, former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh for terming yoga guru Baba Ramdev as ‘thug’. The statement of Digvijay Singh has hurt the sentiment of millions of followers of the yoga guru. It is also a case of hurting religious sentiment,” S.P. Singh, lawyer and complainant, told reporters.
“I filed the complaint seeking action against Digvijay Singh for hurting religious sentiment of the people. I am also a follower of the yoga guru and I felt hurt deeply,” he said.
The complainant has sought registration of a case against Digvijay Singh for hurting religious sentiments.
