He revealed that the existence of the resignation letter was only known by his boss George W. Bush.
The letter was meant to become effective in the event of him being incapacitated at any time. Cheney struggled with heart diseases throughout his tenure as the vice president of the United States.
Cheney’s upcoming autobiography is titled “In My Time: A Personal and Political Memoir.” The book reveals several details about the Bush administration. One of the biggest revelations in the book is that Cheney urged the administration to bomb a site in Syria. He explained in the book that he got no support because of the embarrassment that the 2003 invasion of Iraq had caused the administration.
On his health, Cheney announced publicly for the first time that he remained unconscious for weeks in 2010 after he had a heart procedure. Cheney suffered several heart attacks during his time as vice president as well.
Cheney revealed in his book that he didn’t like some of the personalities who were in the Bush administration including Collin Powell and Condoleezza Rice.
