Dick Cheney Washington, Feb 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The former Vice President Dick Cheney has suffered a mild heart attack. This is his 5th heart attack, in the last 3 decades. His office confirmed the news of his heart attack too. The former VP was admitted to the George Washington University Hospital on Monday, when he complained of chest pains. “Lab testing revealed evidence of a mild heart attack. He underwent a stress test and a heart catheterization. He is feeling good, and is expected to be discharged in the next day or two,” according to a statement by his office.

In the last few years, Dick Cheney has undergone a lot of treatment for his heart condition. He had bypass surgery in 1988, and after that he also underwent angioplasty to unclog his coronary arteries. He even had a pacemaker implanted in his chest, as part of the medical procedure for his heart condition.

He was all set to be a part of the program on Friday, which is being pegged as a breakfast reunion of the Bush administration aides. But now in lieu of his medical condition, his participation might be jeopardized. This was pegged as a major event, because the former President George W Bush is flying down all the way from Dallas, and it would also have had been the first time, the 2 leaders would have met, since leaving office on the 20th of January, 2009.
