Dick Cheney Says He Offered To Quit Vice Presidency Thrice

px00155_91-300x235Jan 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Dick Cheney the 46th Vice President of the USA who served during the tenure of former President George W Bush said in an interview given to a leading TV channel that he wanted to resign from his post thrice. The former President also wrote in his memoir that he got the offer of resignation from the then Vice president. He described Dick Cheney saying he was “a lightning rod for criticism. He was seen as dark and heartless, the Darth Vader of the administration.” The former Vice president told in an interview given to the media entity that he sent his resignation three times because there was reason to believe that his first offer was not taken seriously by the president. He also added that he offered to quit because he wanted to make sure that the president wins the election.

As everyone knows former US President George W Bush did not accept the offer of resignation from Dick Cheney and he got re elected along with him in 2004. The former US vice president who was subjected to severe criticism during his tenure recently talked about the future of the Obama government. He slammed the Democrats and said that the present President’s policies on Health care, budgetary expense etc will ensure his defeat in 2012. He also criticized the attempts of the existing government to allocate more power to the MNCs.

Dick Cheney also lambasted the much talked about Obamacare and said that it has made a majority of the population worried. In the last two years he had been a vehement critic of President Barack Obama. However, in the interview he also admitted that the Democrats have changed their approach towards war on terrorism.
