Dick Cheney Feeling Better, To Be Released From Hospital Soon

June 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Former Vice President Dick Cheney is reportedly feeling better after his weekend stay at the hospital. Dick Cheney was admitted on Friday after he complained of heart problems. His daughter Liz Cheney said in a statement that he is feeling better and they are hoping that he can be released on Monday. She also said in an interview that he has always had heart problems but she is confident that he will deal with it well.
The 69 year old republican and former Vice President has suffered from heart problems since he was 37. Over the last 32 years he has suffered from as many as 5 heart attacks with the latest in February. He has undergone quadruple bypass surgeries and also 2 artery clearing angioplasties. He was fitted with a pacemaker in 2001 and in 2005 underwent a surgery for arterial anuerysm on the back of each of his knees.
In spite of the persistent health issues Dick Cheney has been a powerful political force over the years. He was the main force behind George Bush’s ‘War On Terror’. Known as the most influential and controversial Vice President, he was an advocate for the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is also a hero among the hawkish conservatives and a massive rival for the liberals and Democrats. After leaving office he has been an active critic of the Barack Obama administration. He denounced the security policies of President Barack Obama and once said that Barack Obama had made the nation less safe by changing the security policies of the Bush era.
