DGCA, CB (CID) to get YSR autopsy report

Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), Sept 7 (IBNS) The Andhra Pradesh police Monday said the autopsy reports of late Chief Minister YSR Reddy and four others killed in an aircrash, will be soon handed over to the CB (CID) and Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGCA), who are probing the case.

“We have received the reports. As they are sealed (to be handed over to investigating agencies- CB (CID) and DGCA), we don’t know the contents,” Kurnool Superintendent of Police Ch Srikant told Times Now Monday.

The post-mortem examination reports reached Kurnool police Sunday.

A forensic team led by Superintendent of Kurnool Government General Hospital Dr Prasad conducted autopsy on charred remains of YSR, his principal secretary P Subramanyam, Chief Security Officer ASC Wesley, Group Pilot S K Bhatia and co-pilot MS Reddy Thursday as soon as they were airlifted by an Indian Air Force helicopter from the accident site at Nallamala forest to the base camp at Kurnool Thursday.

The Bell 430 helicopter carrying Reddy, two of his staff and two pilots went missing in pouring rain Wednesday morning over the Naxal and tiger-infested Nalamalla forests and with no contact until early Thursday.

An Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter located the crashed Bell 430 aircraft on top of Serai Salem hill at a distance of 40 nautical miles (74 km) east of Kurnool district Thursday. YSR, along with four others, died in the crash.
