Dennis Kucinich shreds the Democrats over the lost elections

Washington DC, Jan 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Dennis Kucinich, who is a member of the Democratic Party in Ohio, is lashing out at the Democrats as they are losing one election after the other. He said that the Democrats are not being proactive and they haven’t brought the changes that they promised to the voters. He was very disillusioned with the way the Democrats were performing, despite having a Democrat President in the White House. He shredded the image of the non-performing party very badly, as he spoke his mind on a wide variety of topics.
He was very upset over the way his party was handling the things, and the recent election defeat in Massachusetts, added to his misery. His stand on the health care bill deviated a lot from the party, as he felt that the health care reform bill would not be the permanent solution, to all the health care problems, that Americans face.
He even went to say that even though the Democrats have their man in the White House, yet he feels that the party has done nothing to solve the country’s problems, despite the fact that Obama has been the President for a year now. He also commented on the fact that the present actions of the party went strictly against the liberal attitude of the party. He wants the Democrats to pull up their socks and get going.

You go Dennis. All you folks out there, listen to him. He will tell you just like it is, and pull no punches. He is genuine, and believable, and we shoud get behind him to lead the Dems in the right direcction. Sure he was not a good mayor of Cleveland, but that was 30-40 years ago, and the big bankers and Ohio Edison hated him…….and got him out of office. Listen to him, he’s got it right.

Dennis Kucinich is the most honest, clear-eyed politican in America. A Kucinich administration in the White House would go a long way to correcting the pathetic path our war-loving, bullying, poor-people hating country has gone down since the crimes of reagan and his co-horts.
January 25th, 2010 at 12:35 am
Thanks blue dog democrats for blocking real change.
January 25th, 2010 at 12:45 am
I agree with Mr. Kucinich.
How can you have a majority in both houses and break your promises to the voter who put you in??? Greed.. voters want results and a party the is together.
Republicans are together…now put that in your pipe and smoke it:)

Wake up people, until the fat cats on Wall Street can realize enormous personal incomes the rest of our economy will suffer. The past administration (Mr. Cheney and his financial cohorts)tried to relieve their banking debts at the expense of the American worker (Gas and oil costs skyrocketing)which turned around and caused this major setback. The current set back was not supposed to happen until after the Bush Administration had left office, however, the oil snafu was too strong of a financial catalyst and backfired on them leaving them very wealthy and our nation and the rest of the world in great financial trouble. Money runs this country and until we amend the corporate laws to prevent this extreme greed, we will not recover from the current recession.

Go Dennis. You are the voice of reason crying out in the wilderness. I’m sure you realize there’s really no two party system in this country any more - just an old dance that these fossils repeat cuz they all think we aren’t paying attention. Well guess again …
January 25th, 2010 at 1:18 am
Mr Kucinich and most of you don’t get it and never will until you lose this country!. Mr Kucinich is a nut case and always has been! His views will bankrupt this country. Both parties need to be kicked out and we the people take it back. But there morons like you all….little sheep that continue to follow! I remember the story of the early explorer going west. Coming over a the crest of a hill he look down in disbelief! The plains bisan were stampeding. They were blindly following their leader and followed he right over a cliff to their death. Thats what many on this site are doing with our country! Following morons like Kucinich…not stoping and seeing where he is leading!
January 25th, 2010 at 1:20 am
Bad spelling…its early here..o well, you get my point!
January 25th, 2010 at 1:26 am
Pulease, yall wouldn’t know a liberal if he punched you in the mouth…..What is in power is not liberal nor anything faintly associated to progressive……Mr. Kucinich is correct though fighting the well funded right wing LIE machine aka. Faux news and their uneducated, racist minions will be tough…..Ignorance is rampant and the Right has perfected the herding of their sheeple…..
January 25th, 2010 at 1:28 am
Dennis is the only politician that stands up for the people. If there were more like him in Washington, we wouldn’t be in the mess we’re in now. He makes me proud to be an Ohioan and an American.

Cliff -
Thank Obama and his worthless cabinet for not delivering. The correct strategy would have left blue dogs irrelevant. This could have been done in August with a public option. Obama sat down with the GOP, big pharma, and insurance, but refused to meet with single payer supporters. I doubt he wanted any substancial reform passed, instead he wanted a milquetoast facsilile that guarantees additional billions for insurance. I’m sure that’s the agreement he made months ago, thinking only about campaign funding. President Obama is the polar opposite of candidate Obama. Look how he made sure Dorgan’s ammendment was killed. He may be a bigger corporatist than Clinton, and probably a bigger liar. We needed another FDR. He wants us to fight for the Dems, but he refuses to fight for us, his base. Can anyone name one promise he’s kept? He’s been very Bushlike, and that’s most certainly not change. DK is the best!!!!!!
January 25th, 2010 at 1:48 am
There is no such thing as a honest politician. Democrats have lost sight of what they stood far and republicans running a close second. This is what you get when we have professional politicians. We have absolutely no representation in DC. Just think how many laws have been passed. Really, how many laws do we need? Just too much government and states not really able to govern themselves.
January 25th, 2010 at 1:52 am
Obama is NOT our man! He did not have the popular vote, that was H Clinton, but rather than have experience and someone who already knew all the world players the DNC delegates balked, and picked someone they THOUGHT they could control. I am a demoncrat and I will never be a reflubican. I must admit I am beyond disappointed in the current pres, but I must admit another reflubican this soon is just way too scary. Trust me Dennis most of America agrees with you!
January 25th, 2010 at 2:02 am
Dennis is a fag
January 25th, 2010 at 2:09 am
Independents, moderates, conservatives, and republicans say: “You go Dennis!” Why? Because the people are rejecting liberal policies, that’s why republicans are winning governorships and even Teddy’s old Senate seat. And y’all lefties think it’s because Obama is not liberal enough?! LOL. Okay, go even farther left, and the dems won’t just be hurt in this fall’s elections, they’ll be murdered! Lefties think liberal Massachusettes voted for a moderate republican instead of a liberal democrat because they are dissatisfied with Obama and dems…so they vote for someone even more conservative…hmmm, yeah that’s real logical. LOL
January 25th, 2010 at 2:16 am
Francis - he kicked her tail all over the place, I have no idea what you’re talking about. One of the problems with Obama is the Clinton retreads like Rahmbo and Summers. I think Hillary has been an acceptable Sec. of State. Remember that President Clinton signed all the “free” trade aggreements, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), and the The Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000. President Clinton is as responsible for crippling this country as any Republican, and if Hillary was giving Bill advice, well there you go. All I here is what a strong woman and fighter Hillary is. Yet, she stayed with a husband who has cheated on her multiple times, probably for her own political gain. That’s a terrible example for women everywhere, and certainly not one I want my own daughter to follow. Stand by your man!

I saw the interview this article is based on, and Kucinich did much more making excuses than he did of saying his stupid party is doing wrong. Just why are the poor people in this country supposed to be pandered to, as someone said in one of these posts? I’m sick of being in the middle class by WORKING and being responsible in having only the # of children I could afford, and my grown children following that pattern, but we have to help support the poor, most of whom are poor because they don’t get trained/educated for a good job and have a dozen kids who are on free lunches at school, etc. Our country, with Obama’s lead, is going right down the path to communism! Evidently most of you don’t even know what that means. Well, in short, everyone working has to share the wealth with those who don’t, so nobody, except the politicians, has anything! And there’s NO middle class in a communist society. Hmmm…….still so into helping the poor people?
Well, go ahead, but please leave me and my family out of it. I got to the age where I was forced to retire, and now I can barely call myself middle class, but I don’t qualify for any of the stuff the “poor” people do. I wouldn’t use food stamps, anyway; it’s demeaning! If anyone reading this (if you can read) is on food stamps, get a job and buy your own food! I’m to the point of deciding whether to buy food or medicine after working till I was past retirement age and would still be working if I hadn’t been forced out so they could hire 2 young people.

Joe-
I don’t think you understand progressives and their mindset. We’ve been lied to (yet again) and ignored. Much of the polling information from Mass. shows many Dems stayed home You’re correct that the Dems will be defeated in upcoming elections. Notice I didn’t use your term, murdered. I wonder if you use that terminology to describe the huge GOP losses in 2006 and 2008. The GOP are going to the far right with the teabagger movement, which will eventually hurt them. Annointing unqulified quitters and idiots like Palin will come home to roost, and is sofa king wee Todd did! The Dems are also moving right, which is already hurting them. They are as out of touch with progressive opinion as you and the GOP. You should find solace in the fact that the GOP doesn’t abandon their base. In this regard, Dems are completely tone deaf, and it appears they think they can convert more Republicans and independents. Obama’s message engaged and activated millions. He hasn’t delivered on anything, and those millions are disenchanted and pulling back politically. We all know that won’t happen. As the insurance and petro companies continue to rape we the people, folks will wake up, or at least I hope they will, though I have little faith when it comes to the millions of low information voters in this nation.

GMan (Government Man?)
Excuses excuses.
The GOP lost in 2006 and 2008 because they were drifting left and the Iraq war was a stupid decision by Bush, and Bush is not a smooth communicator to put it very kindly. Obama won the presidency because people were tired of Bush, not tired of the great foundations this country was built upon. The “change” they liked in Obama was he was a good communicator(like Reagan), and he feigned he would be moderate and have transparency and no back-room deals and be bi-partisan — none of these promises did he keep. History shows time and again that the majority of the people want a moderate President. That’s why Clinton moved back to the middle after the voters rejected the libs in 1994. The only exception might be Reagan, who was conservative. Obama is as liberal and progessive as they come, he and the dems have not been transparent (i.e. Obama said C-span should be able to televise the health care debate in Congress, but Pelosi and her gang won’t allow it, worried about what the people will learn). Polls at the time of the election indicated health care was a concern to only 5% of the people. Most people were concerned about the economy #1 and national security #2 and sick of Bush #3. The economy is always the most important, that’s how it always is, that’s why the statement “It’s the economy stupid” rings true all the time. The economy is not turning around (the problems can be traced to Barney Frank and his progressive buddies forcing banks through the Community Reinvestment Act, to make loans to poor people with bad credit histories who had no business buying homes they could not afford); the stimulus bill was a big waste of money, the people see the health care (insurance reform) bill as a big monstrosity with “1984 Big Brother” written all over it. People see the deficit growing, they want a stop to deficit spending. JFK was a moderate, he knew across the board tax cuts is what helps the economy, not slow cumbersome inefficient government spending with back-room bribes (i.e. Nelson in Nebraska). People want common sense, such as treating terrorists as enemy combatants not criminals. Obama says we are at war with the terrorists but his progressive (anti-American) attorney general treats them like criminals with miranda rights, they get all lawyered up and they shut up and it hurts our intelligence gathering. Wait till women and children’s heads start rolling in the streets of America from terrotists bombs, then you will see a revolt from the people demanding the terrorists be treated like enemy combatants as they should be!. The people do not want terrorists given the constitutional rights of U.S. citizens. The Christmas day underwear bomber should be tried in a military tribunal not civilian federal courts, lawyered up with public defenders paid with taxpayers money. Scott Brown mentioned some of these issues as reasons people of all political pursuasions voted for him. Also, the government should run its finacial affairs and checkbook like we the people have to — no deficit spending. Massachusettes is the most liberal state in the Union, polls show dems did not stay home, the only way a republican, a moderate, or a conservative could win “Teddy’s Senate Seat” is if independents and democrats voted for Brown, which they did. The majority of people in the country do not want progressive policies, meaning socialist policies. They want freedom, small government, no deficit spending, low taxes, strong defense, and they realize businesses create real productive jobs, not the government, the government creates non-productive make-work short term jobs. There a number of people who are liberal on social issues, but believe in a balanced budget, strong defense, limited government control/intrusion, and how capitalism is what made the USA the greatest country on earth, not socialism, not communism, not European-style capitalism. If republicans would open the tent wider for guys like Scott Brown and Rudy Guliani and drop the abortion issue — “it is settled law” — then many independents and democrats would find their beliefs line up fairly well with moderate repubs, if not conservaties (except for abortion). Progressives want to impose their will upon the people. The people are rejecting it. Thank God for democracy. I hope progressives continue to make their elected domocrat officials, and Obama, continue to be left of center, even far left, because the people will throw them out of office (yeah, “murdered” is a bit too strong, my enthusiasm got the best of me, but as Chick Hearn used to say, “no harm no foul”).
January 25th, 2010 at 7:42 am
Joe, I agree the economy trumps all but your understanding of the role of the CRA in the Fall fianancial crisi is completely wrong. And you’re wrong that people want our “nation of laws” transformed into a country of military tribunals. Progressives ARE the people. Where were you and all the Republican apologists when Bush and Co ran up the deficit to the highest ever recorded.
January 25th, 2010 at 7:48 am
Praise Jay-sus! I have yet to read any shred of truth in this misguided commentary.
Blah, blah, blah. Your choices are this:
Have big government running your lives; telling you when you can take a dump and when you must go to work to support the people who dont want to work. To have their ineffectual sympathetic, bleeding hearts protecting you from those that would sooner kill you than look at you.
Or:
Start to fend for yourselves as real(not to be confused with democrats)Americans have done for a couple of centuries. Its a dog eat dog world and that wont change regardless of how many democrats are in power.
The day I am forcibly disarmed by our sad azz government(assuming I survive the attempt) I am joining the “poor” people, so that the rest of you bleeding hearts can support me along with the rest of the lazy and drug addicts you seem so eager to support.
Even McDonalds will pay you a living wage. There is no excuse for being “downtrodden” in modern America.
Americans are every bit as soft and stupid as the rest of the world takes us for. You people are fools.

Only thing worse than Jimmy Carter as president is BOBAMA. Only thing worse than BOBAMA in the office is Kucinich
January 25th, 2010 at 11:28 am
Hey Joe-
GMan is a shortened version of my name. My first initial is G, the first 3 letters of my last name are Man. I don’t work for the government, but I am a veteran. My wife is also a vet. Excuses? You know that we will never agree why something happened, our perceptions being quite different. People were tired of Bush, but make no mistake that he should have been impeached and prosecuted. He and his gang are war criminals. He lied us into an illegal invasion and occupation. He illegally wiretapped Americans, violating the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. He could have tried to change the law, but he chose to ignore any and all laws that got in his way. Bushco violated the Hatch Act and the Presidential Records Act, not to mention opening the flood gates to war profiteering. This is an abbreviated list of his many debacles, but let me add that it was awfully nice of him to fly all the bin Ladens out of the country following 9/11 while all commercial air travel was grounded. The FBI was not allowed to sufficiently interview any of them. It was also great the way he let Osama escape. 40 people on horseback fled the most powerful army in the world into Pakistan and we didn’t give chase? We saw nothing on satellites, we didn’t have the sky saturated with planes and helicopters? What a bedtime story! It seems Bush needed a boogie man, an essential piece to any fear mongering scheme. Saying that we were tired of Bush is an enormous understatement. His epic fail of a Presidency definately drove the country to the left as you put it. Obama a liberal progressive? It is to laugh! Maybe you’re talking about candidate Obama, because this President has been his polar opposite. As a progressive, that’s offensive to all liberals. Joe, you can even call me a socialist if you like. I lived in Germany 1-1/2 years. I lived in a German village, and my landlady was a nurse, my landlord an American expatriot. I found that country to be much better run than ours, more efficient, more productive, and generally happier. Real healthcare, great transportation that is always on time, real food free of crap, what a terrible system. Obama is no socialist, liberal, or anything other than another corporatist, much like Clinton. That goes for Pelosi as well. Obama definately did back room deals, but you’re 100% wrong about bipartisanhip. He was actually stupid and naive enough to try bipartisanhip on healthcare reform, much to my chagrin. Look how he kissed ass with Collins, Snowe, and Liebermann (yes, I’m calling him a Republican) He even put a few Republicans on his team, kept Gates, and tried to get Gregg. This is not a matter of differing perceptions, on this point, you are most certainly a liar. The GOP will continue to oppose everthing Obama does, even if they were to agree. The 8 years under Cheney/Bush is the most partisan in our history. They used reconciliation to pass some very bad legislation, killed every Democrat sponsered bill in committee, kept votes open for hours, etc. It seems you have amnesia or a memeory of convenience. You seem to have forgotten DeLay handing out checks on the Senate floor, Frist, Abramoff, Ney, Safavian, etc. If you’re claiming the GOP wasn’t and isn’t dirty, you’re insane. Notice I never said the Dems are squeaky clean, but they are underachievers compared to the GOP in the bribes and corruption department. I think Clinton moved to the right because of all the scandals involving the “little President.” I also view him as a centrist and corporatist, Republican light if you will. He signed every free trade agreement put in front of him as well as the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA or Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999), and the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000. All of these were key pieces in the destruction of this country, and they enjoyed strong GOP support. I’ sure you remember Gramm as McCain’s financial genius and Enron insider. Reagan was a terrible President. Not only did he sell weapons to terrorists, but he eagerly supported Marxist governments. St. Ronald cut taxes for the rich, but actually raised taxes for normal folks 11 times. Bush 41 referred to his trickle-down as voodoo economics. Please look it up. Then we come to your tax cut rant and support of Milton Friedman economics, which has been proven ineffective (unless you belong to the top 2%). Tax cuts for the rich don’t work, and unemployment actually increased last time (Bush tax cuts). How about a nice progressive tax system such as that under Ike. I actually consider him to be the last good President (yes, I know he was a Republican). I don’t think Kennedy was around long enough to be fully evaluated, and I think he was given a free pass in regard to Vietnam because of the terrible tragedy that ended his life. Health care is an economic issue. How can an economy prosper if the average American spends 15-16% of their net income on insurance care. Insurance is not health care. That is what’s coming between us and our doctors. I don’t think much of the stimulus either mainly because I believe it was badly mismanaged. It did provide emergency COBRA and unemployment which I think was a good thing. The middle class and poor put almost all of their income back into the economy. Tax breaks to 2% of the population don’t Women and children’s heads have already rolled in the streets of America from terrotists bombs (9/11). There have been plenty of cases of domestic terroism as well. Should McVeigh have been treated as an enemy combatant like Jose Padilla who was shipped to Gitmo and denied his Constitutional rights (both American citizens)? Or is it different for a Christian fundamentalist compared to a Muslim fundamentalist? What about the man that gunned down people in a Unitarian church during a children’s poduction of the play, Annie? He’s most certainly a terrorist (please refer to a dictionary before you tell me what terrorist means) and the argument could be made logically that he is an enemy of the people. What about the man who shot the abortion doc? Pro-choice or anti-choice, abortion is legal, and he killed to terrorize those giving and receiving abortions. I might not agree, but I recognize your point; I just need clarification on where you stand. I’m sure you also believe in torture, as Cheney/Bush. It doesn’t work for anything but providing false confessions. America is better than that. We’ve resisted the use of torture despite the fact it has been used on us. I find your Mass. poll info dubious, and would like you to state your source. I will search as well, because I honestly don’t remember which polls I saw. The majority of people in this country want health care. The GOP gave tax cuts to companies that sent jobs overseas, how does that create jobs? Balanced budget? Are you serious? Look what Bush did to the deficit. I’m not a Clintonista, but he did have a surplus. GOP policies ended that, creating the largest deficit in the world. Guliani? Joe, please get real. You can annoint Brown as the next GOP messiah, but Rudy’s done. There are hardly any moderate Republicans left, and the teabaggers will continue to force them out. Goldwater conservatives are extinct.
January 25th, 2010 at 11:36 am
Bill Sanders-
You are obviously a mental giant. I have no desire to trade verbal jabs with you, sir, as I am sure I would be bested and humiliated. I cannot and will not argue with your brilliant, well constructed commentary. Kudos to you, sir! I know my limitations.
January 25th, 2010 at 12:07 pm
Skiz-
You are a great communicator, and your logic is beyond reproach. I was wondering if I am a real American, because now I’m not sure. I am not affiliated with any party, but I vote. I believe in the right to bear arms, I own a rifle, and I’m a veteran. I attend church regularly, am married, and have 2 children. I want to work, and although they are a fine company, I wasn’t especially keen on a job at McDonald’s. That was until you opened my eyes, and I’d like to thank you, Skiz. I was laid off in December, so maybe it’s time that I check out McDonald’s since they pay a living wage. I have had a couple of interviews at other places, but nothing has panned out. I was also wondering if you could provide a list of places where I could live if I am lucky enough to secure gainful employment at McDonald’s. You’re obviously intelligent and well versed, and I’d like to thank you for providing employment alternatives that were under my nose the whole time. Reading your words, I feel connected, like I know you. You’ve really helped me, and I now consider you my conduit to the heavens. I know I’m not worthy, but I’m asking for your advice anyway in hopes you will respond.
January 25th, 2010 at 7:06 pm
GMan, I am now officially a fan…and couldn’t agree more. Our corporate friendly laws, tax regulations and Congress weren’t just “silent” as America’s manufacturing base (and family supporting wages) were shipped to China-they were active complicit co-conspirators. And the jobs they didn’t send are now being filled by willing illegal immigrants that depress our wages in this country even further…..I used to work in vocational education and can tell you that the vaunted “skills shortage” is a nearly transpaprent fig leaf as an excuse why so many people, who should be in their peak earning years, are fast becoming destitute. The manufacturing jobs we lost included a high percentage of “technical” high-skilled areas. The so-called skills gap and “knowledge jobs” do need some different skills-but guess what-not so wholly different. And all those knowledge jobs…I guess, like the cavalry, they’re just over the hill….but my guess is they’ll arrive after the demise of any hope in this country for family supporting jobs with good benefits….and those “green collar” jobs? SO many of them are construction related, NOT high knowledge jobs and yet we’re no where near large scale implementation for them either. Want to hear a laugh? A radio commentator said people without jobs should look into jobs in education and health care, as they’re the growing sectors. Oh yeah, everyone who’s been laid off should become a nurse. What a bunch of hooey. From Reagan to Clinton to Bush the corporate elite has had their way with this country. Like the tea baggers I too want MY country back….unfortunately, they and their ilk are the ones responsible for losing it. You don’t mention this aspect, GMan but isn’t it also curious that 9/11 took place on the one day when our noble VP was conducting a national “war game” that confused the air traffic scene? Boy, that Bin Laden crowd MUST have had some great intelligence or providential luck in their timing. I’ve been waiting for Cheney’s umbrage to be directed at the “incompetents” who let that happen….and for that we’ll wait forever.Ignoring the abuses (and illegalities)of the past eight years might was a mistake but I’d have understood it if the “will of the people” actually had been the mission of this administration. The Dems didn’t lose Mass because they weren’t sufficiently ‘right’ enough. I’m disgusted that the “audacity” of the Obama campaign morphed so quickly into “timidity”. I’m truly haunted by the words of a DC cab driver….I always ask cab drivers about lots of things and often find their insights to be pretty interesting….This one foreign born (but America loving) cab driver said…”I think the Republicans are going to let the Democrats win in 2008 and then they are going to take everything back again and make a dictatorship for this country” As I listened to the Republican/wh plans floated about martial law during the conventions and during our “financial scare” in the all of 2008 those words haunted me. Trial runs? And now we see the current Supreme Court match their cupidity in the “Selection” of Bush as our president with their enshrinement of the “great mistake” that equates corporations with human beings as “citizens”. THANK GOD for Dennis Kucinich. and GMan, for you too. I wish Organizing for America would quit asking for more donations and begin asking for our participation in righting all of this. Any ideas on how to act constructively on all this disappointment?
January 26th, 2010 at 2:05 am
Caroline (in the city?)-
Thanks for your kind words. I’m now a Caroline fan as well! I honestly have no ideas on how to act constructively. I’ve searched my gray matter time and time again to no avail, and I usually end up quite angry. It’s so far gone, I don’t know what to address first. I have a degree in Solar energy (1994), so I wanted to give my take. I’ve found many of the available jobs often require a masters or Phd. I only have an Associate degree, and haven’t been able to find a baccalaureate program where I can transfer my credits and upgrade my education. I want to design passive solar homes, but that’s not as sexy as PVs, and there’s little demand. There are some installation jobs, especially in the PV field, but competition is fierce, and certification is almost always required. The stagnant economy has really put a stranglehold on PV sales/installation as well. I was recently working for a non profit entity that specialized in sustainable projects, but all the contractors were laid off. That was the first time I was able to work in my primary field. I don’t see any green revolution, I don’t care what the President says. So I’ve turned to drafting work and landscape design (not currently employed of course). I also make and sell natural soap; I’m just trying to be flexible and stay afloat. I find you’re 9/11 comments very interesting. It all seems quite odd and coincidental. I’ve always had deep rooted suspicions, especially after researching the project for the new american century. I’ve always thought there were inside forces at play, but I’ve usually kept that to myself because I was afraid of being labeled as nutty. You are very courageous bringing up your views on 9/11, and I agree. Obama is the ultimate milquetoast corporatist surrounded by Clinton retreads. You’re absolutely correct! It’s so strange you mention cabbies. My dad drove a cab for over 30 years. He could have done a lot of things, but I know he enjoyed meeting and talking to people. He also liked the odd combination of freedom and stability. Following his divorce, he raised my siblings and I with very little assistance from my mom; she never paid childcare. He was a Republican, but he always believed in health care. I would categorize him as a true conservative, not a neocon in any way. We didn’t agree on many subjects, but he was well versed on a number of subjects. I hope the DC cabbie is wrong, but the neocons have gotten away with things I would have laughed off years ago. This is crazy, but I bought my weapon because of W. I was a machine gunner in the army, but I never felt I had a reason to own a weapon. Just because I’m paranoid doesn’t mean there aren’t people out to get me! That’s my lame attempt of a joke. The thing about martial law is that there aren’t enough national guard and reservists to pull it off. I also question if they would follow those orders. Depending on the actual circumstances, I would consider it an unlawful order and refuse to comply. I believe it’s illegal to use regular forces on our civilian population. Most of the military, including the guard and reservists are pretty busy. THANK GOD for Kucinich, indeed! I love that guy; he’s one of the few straight shooters who fights for the lower 98%. I’m flattered you mentioned me in the same sentence as DK, but I’ll never do as much as he has. I think you’re commentary is spot on, and I find your insights very interesting. I’d love to grab a cup of coffee with you, trash talk neocons, discuss 9/11 and cab drivers, and have a no-holds-barred bitch session. Now that would be therapeutic! I’m sure you’re on the other side of the country, so I guess we’ll be confined to the cyber world, but it was a pleasure “meeting” you.
