Washington, May 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Dennis C. Blair has announced that he will be resigning from the post of the chief co-coordinator of the intelligence agency of the nation. He is going to resign officially on Friday, May 21. The decision has not come as much of a surprise, considering that the intelligence agency has been facing quite a lot of failures recently, regarding terrorist plots and other security concerns. Moreover, the agency had also been taking quite a number of erroneous measures, politically that is, that did not prove to be very good for his standing with the White House. These occurrences have led to the speculation that Dennis C. Blair might not be resigning of his own accord, but that he might actually have been asked to do so by President Barack Obama.
Moreover, there is the case of the notice that was circulated by Dennis C. Blair stating is decision to step down from the post. Apparently, he had circulated the email to all the 16 agencies that he was the director of. However, he did not mention any cause behind his decision, nor did he leave a note of thanks to the President or having given him the opportunity to serve the nation, as is customary in such notifications.
However, insiders’ reports suggest that the decision to retire might have come as the only option. According to some sources, President Barack Obama had asked Dennis C. Blair to resign. In fact, some sources also claim that the authorities are already looking for a replacement, and that they are well into the interviewing process. The President himself commented in a statement that he is happy to have had Dennis C. Blair on board for such a long time, but did not divulge any details.
