- Washington DC, Nov 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A supposedly friendly debate between ex-Presidents Bush and Bill Clinton was cancelled. According to reports it has been cancelled because, “the promoter overhyped it as a death-match faceoff between the men.”
“This event … was supposed to be a discussion between the two former presidents, and has been canceled because it was not being billed as such by an overeager promoter,” said Clinton spokesman Matt McKenna. He also clarified that the appearance was to be a moderated panel discussion, and not a debate at all.
“It’s canceled,” said Clinton spokesman Matt McKenna yesterday, a day after the promoter issued its first press release touting the event. “It was being promoted in a manner that violated our contract with them.”
There were no reactions at all from the Bush camp or the promoter of the debate.
It may be recalled that, ex- presidents Bill Clinton and George. W. Bush had agreed to a discussion at Radio City Music Hall on Feb. 25, 2010.
