CPI-M’s rectification process to continue till June
February 6th, 2010 - 10:26 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Kolkata, Feb 6 (IANS) Communist Party of India- Marxist (CPI-M) general secretary Prakash Karat Saturday said the party’s ongoing rectification drive aimed at strengthening the organisation and eliminating its shortcomings will continue till June.
“All CPI-M politburo members have already submitted notes on the politburo’s and their own critical appraisals. Now the central committee members are doing the same. Then the same model will be followed by the state committee,” he said.
“As per the decision of the rectification campaign document adopted in October 2009, the rectification process is to begin from the politburo and the central committee,” Karat told a press conference here.
“The report on the rectification of the central committee will be taken up in the party’s next central committee meeting,” he said.
The CPI-M general secretary said the party had also adopted the proposal of forming a disciplinary commission which was placed in the three-day central committee meeting. Karat, however, declined to share the name of the disciplinary commission members.
