Kolkata, Aug 11 (IANS) The Communist Part of India-Marxist (CPI-M) will meet West Bengal Governor M.K. Narayanan to protest against alleged political vendetta and infringement of democratic right by the state government, a party leader Thursday.
“After the Trinamool Congress- Congress led alliance has come to power, regular instances of political vendetta, murders, loot, rioting, bloodbath are being witnessed. Innocent people are being implicated in false cases and arrested,” CPI-M central committee member Mohammad Salim told media persons here after former minister and party leader Sushanta Ghosh was taken into police custody in the Midnapore skeleton case.
Salim alleged that personal liberty of people was being violated and democratic rights of political parties and trade unions were being infringed upon.
“It starts with the CPI-M and eventually will go on to the press and the media. These are the first signs of those who are guided by dictatorial attitude,” he said in an apparent attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
“Tomorrow (Friday) we will be assembling before the Governor to protest against the infringement of personal liberty and democratic rights as well as against the atrocities perpetrated by the Trinamool Congress,” he said.
