Lucknow, June 2 (IANS) Corruption linked to the Congress-led government and “misrule” in Uttar Pradesh will be the focus of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) two-day National Executive meeting beginning here Friday.
“We would also have detailed discussions on farmers’ issues and the terrorist-friendly and Naxalite-friendly policies of the central government,” BJP national vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.
The BJP would also formulate a strategy to contest the coming elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Manipur.
“Terrorism would also be taken up. The half-hearted approach of the Congress-led central government to contain terrorism would also be a topic of discussion,” said Naqvi.
The BJP’s other target would be the “misrule” of Chief Minister Mayawati and her Bahujan Samaj Party in Uttar Pradesh, he added.
According to the BJP, more than 300 party leaders, including L.K. Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Nitin Gadkari and chief ministers of seven BJP-ruled states, are expected to attend the meeting.
