Manmohan Singh Congress has won an overwhelming victory in the Lok Sabha Elections. The results were declared today. The Congress is ahead by at least 60 seats over its nearest competitor the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party).

All the results have not yet been declared but the Television projections indicate that the Government will once more be formed by the UPA (United Progressive Alliance). The BJP has won 160 and the Third Front has got 73 seats. In the capital of the country, Delhi, all the seven seats have gone to the Congress.

It is being speculated by political analysts that the present Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, will continue a second term. However the Congress will not probably get to form a government by itself. The government will once more be a coalition. As per the current TV projections, Congress could get 40 seats less than the 272 seats required.

Kapil Sibal, the Congress spokesman has been reported saying to the local news channel CNN-IBN that the Indian people have unambiguously chosen their leaders. The Congress is the clear leaders:”The Indian people need a stable, honest and straightforward government for the future generation of India.” Congress supporters are already celebrating as may be seen from Television footage which shows buoyant Congress supporters.
