Congress targets Uttarakhand over Haridwar stampede
November 9th, 2011 - 11:41 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Nov 9 (IANS) The Congress Wednesday said the Haridwar stampede, in which at least 20 people were killed, occurred due to insufficient arrangements by the Uttarakhand administration.
“The arrangements that were made were insufficient. Somewhere, lapse of the part of administration is visible,” Congress spokesperson Raashid Alvi.
At least 20 people were killed and 40 injured in the stampede that occurred Tuesday when massive crowds had gathered near the Ganges for a religious meet in the temple town.
