New Delhi, May 6 (IANS) Former minister and Congress’ Rajya Sabha MP Akhilesh Das Tuesday resigned from the party, blaming the “coterie” around party general secretary Rahul Gandhi for the move. Das, a former minister of state for steel who was known as a close confidant of Rahul Gandhi, had been dropped from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s council of ministers last month.

Das told a television channel that the Congress party no longer functioned on the ‘one man one post’ rule.
