Congress legislator shot at in Madhya Pradesh
April 13th, 2009 - 11:56 pm ICT by IANSBhopal, April 13 (IANS) A Congress party legislator was shot at by unidentified assailants in Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh Monday evening, police said.
Makhan Singh Jatav is a legislator from Gohad assembly constituency in the state.
“Congress legislator Makhan Singh Jatav, who received bullet injuries, has been rushed to Gwalior for treatment. The police has registered a case of attempt to murder against unidentified persons and are looking into the matter,” Chambal range Inspector General Arvind Kumar told IANS over phone.
“The legislator was returning from Chharetav village in Bhind district when the incident occurred,” Kumar said.
Bhind district is some 550 km from here.
