Congress leader shot in Uttar Pradesh
October 16th, 2010 - 3:29 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Oct 16 (IANS) Two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants Saturday shot and seriously wounded a Congress leader and a former member of the Legislative Council here, police said.
Musheer Ahmed was attacked near his house in Wazirganj locality. He was said to be in critical condition.
“He has multiple bullet injuries in his stomach and shoulder,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Piyush Srivastava said. “We are yet to establish the motive.”
A police source said the incident could be linked to a property dispute between Ahmed and some of his relatives.
