Congress Lalthanhawla wins in Mizoram
December 8th, 2008 - 11:28 am ICT by IANSAizawl, Dec 8 (IANS) Congress chief ministerial candidate in Mizoram Lalthanhawla Monday won the South Tipui seat, defeating F. Lalthanzuala of the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF).Counting of the votes cast Dec 2 to elect the 40-member state legislature is in progress. According to early trends, the Congress is leading in four seats and the MNF is ahead in two seats.
The MNF has ruled Mizoram for the last 10 years.
