Lucknow, July 7 (IANS) Closeness between the Congress party and the Samajwadi Party came to the fore as Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Sri Prakash Jaiswal said his party was thankful to the latter for its stand on the India-US nuclear deal. “It is heartening that a political outfit from Uttar Pradesh has emerged to extend its support to our party over the nuclear deal,” Jaiswal told reporters here Monday.

On the stand of the Left parties and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the deal, Jaiswal said: “We were expecting the opposition from the Left parties but the one from BJP is beyond our reasoning.”

Experts from across the country have endorsed the nuclear deal that will immensely help India in the coming days, he added.
