New Delhi, Sep 30 (IANS) The Congress Wednesday hailed party general secretary Rahul Gandhi for his efforts to introduce internal democracy in the student and youth wing of the party.

He was referring to a meeting of Rahul Gandhi with the newly elected body of NSUI in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) late Wednesday night.
Singhvi said such efforts were the “part of the vision of the Congress party” and its president Sonia Gandhi to democratise the organisation.
Rahul Gandhi, who is also in-charge of the youth wing, has introduced organisational elections party’s youth wing and student wings.
Internal elections have already been conducted for different posts in youth wings in the states of Punjab, Gujarat and Puducherry and the party hopes to conduct elections in rest of country in next two years.
