Congress demands CBI probe into tribal deaths
June 1st, 2011 - 8:20 pm ICT by IANSPanaji, June 1 (IANS) Congress legislators in Goa have demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the death of two tribal young men who were burnt to death May 25.
Speaking after a Congress legislature party (CLP) meeting Wednesday, spokesperson Mauvin Godinho said that handing the case to the Crime Branch was not a wise decision.
“The CLP has requested the state government to hand over the entire (tribal) episode to the CBI. The local police will not be able to do justice to the investigation,” said Godinho, who is also the deputy speaker of the Goa assembly.
