Kolkata, Jan 21 (IANS) A local Congress leader was killed Wednesday after being stabbed from behind as he took his morning walk in a village in West Bengal’s Malda district, a party legislator said.Wahid Ali of Sujapur village, 365 km from here, was attacked by criminals, Sujapur’s Congress legislator Mausam Benazir Nur said. She blamed the ruling Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) for the murder.
“At least four criminals attacked Ali and his brother. Although the brother escaped, Ali was stabbed,” said Nur. Ali was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
“Before dying, he gave us the names of those who murdered him. They were all CPI-M activists,” Nur alleged.
