Kolkata, March 14 (IANS) Hopeful of an alliance with the Trinamool Congress, West Bengal Congress president Manas Bhuniya Monday cautioned party workers against using provocative language against the alliance partner.

“We will have an alliance with Trinamool. We all are in favour of alliance. And I would ask my party leaders and workers not to say anything provocative against them and I would also request them (Trinamool) to do the same because the issue is very sensitive,” Bhuniya told reporters here.

“We have told our high command in Delhi to settle this matter (forging of alliance) as early as possible as the process for first phase of polls will start very soon,” he said.

Both the Congress and the Trinamool Congress are trying solve the imbroglio over seat-sharing for the April-May assembly elections starting April 18.

On Sunday, Trinamool leader and Minister of State for Shipping Mukul Roy had a one-and-half-hour meeting with Congress general secretary Shakeel Ahmed and Bhuniya in New Delhi.
