Dec 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Cindy Morgan has been elected as the vice chairwoman of the Moore County Board of Commissioners. The current vice chairman of the board is Jimmy Melton. It was decided a few days back that the current chairman of the Moore County Board of Commissioners, Nick Picerno, would not be continuing a second term on the board as the chairman. This is the first time that Cindy Morgan has been elected in the post of the Vice Chairwoman. The tenure for this post is one year.

When asked why he wanted to step down as chairman of the board, Nick Picerno commented that he felt that he had achieved quite a lot during his one year stint as the chairman on the board. He feels that he had been able to accomplish most of what he had set out to achieve when he had stepped into the shoes of the chairman. He admitted that his objective as the Chairman of the Moore County Board of Commissioners had been more or less reached.

Now, he wanted to step down as Chairman so that he could concentrate on the other, more pressing matters. He commented that he now feels that he should be able to concentrate more on the discussions and lesser on the protocol, now that he is no longer assuming the responsibilities of the chairman. Tim Lea, the Commissioner of the Moore County Board, has been elected as the Chairman. In his case too, this is the first time that he is assuming the role of the chairman of the board.
