Christina Romer, The Chair Of The Council Of Economic Advisers Resigns

Aug 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The present Chair of Council of Economic Advisers, Christina Romer is all set to resign from her post. The White House officials announced that the veteran adviser has resigned last night. The Council of Economic Advisers wishes to go back to her post as a teacher in the University of California after her retirement.
The White House officials has not named anyone who would replace Christina Romer. They officials said that the adviser is leaving her post not because of any personal conflict in her workplace, she wanted to go to California for her personal family reasons as her son will be starting his high school in the fall. President Barack Obama released a statement where he said that Christina Romer has provided service to the President and the country during the time of economic crisis and recovery which is beyond comparison.
The President also stated that Christina Romer will continue to provide her service as a member of his Economic Recovery Advisory Board, which is a panel of non-government experts who checks the economic recovery of United States Of America and offer ideas and suggestions for its improvement. The White House Officials reported that the Christina Romer will take her leave on September 3, 2010. Christina Romer is the second person in President Barack Obama’s economic team to resign. Previously it was Peter Orszag, the former director of the White House Office of Management and Budget who resigned from his post last month. Julia Coronado, senior U.S. economist at BNP Paribas in New York and a former Fed staffer in Washington said that after Christina Romer’s resignation the economics team in the President Barack Obama administration is in a “difficult” spot as losing another person from the team is “worrisome”.
