Bharatiya Janata Party Bhopal, Jan 27 (IANS) The Congress’s Madhya Pradesh unit Friday accused the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led Bharatiya Janata Party government of harassing good administrative officials on various pretexts.

Citing the S.M.H. Zaidi case in which minister Ajay Bishnoi called his wife to his bungalow and allegedly demand sexual favours from her, Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh said that it is surprising that Chouhan is silent on the issue.

In a release, the Congress leader also mentioned Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers Ramesh Tete and Shashi Karnawat, who belong to Scheduled Caste community, have alleged openly that they are being harassed because of their caste.

Singh also said that state government officials Girish Sharma and Sajiv Srivastava also being harassed as they had allegedly found department ministers involved in corruption.

Sharma, who raised the issue of illegal mining in the chief minister’s constituency has been transferred eleven times in eleven years so far, the Congress leader said.

“But the allegations of Zaidi are very serious as he was not getting salary for 22 months and his unjustified transfers show he was being pressurized for objectionable things.”

“All these have demoralised administrative officials in state and development is being hampered,” said Singh.

He demanded high level inquiry in Zaidi’s issue and removal of Bishnoi from the post of minister.
