Chinese Artist Liu Bolin Creates A Buzz With His “Burning Man Obama” Statue

Dec.11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Chinese artist Liu Bolin created quite a stir lately as he sculpted a Barack Obama statue which has been titled “Burning Man Obama“. Reportedly, the sculpture of the artist based on the President of United States, was viewed by Barack Obama himself, during his recent visit to China. Liu Bolin who insists that he is an ardent fan of the President is said to have created the statue to commemorate Barack Obama’s visit to China.
The sculpture which has managed to gather immense attention, depicts Barack Obama as a human torch with fire emanating from his head. Apparently, the statue gives the impression of the President being on fire with flames rising above his head. However, the artist expresses that the statue represents the impacts that the American President has on the world as a leader. Moreover, it has also been emphasized that the sculpture on fire symbolizes the rapid transformations that the President is gradually bringing in the world. Moreover, Liu Bolin also reveals that he considers the U.S President to be an extremely interesting leader and the statue was his attempt to express his admiration for Barack Obama.
Although, the artist accepted that fire can also represent something negative and destructive, “Burning Man Obama” statue highlighted the energy and the power that the President has been able to channelize to the world. At the same time, reportedly many people have objected to the image of Barack Obama being on fire and have expressed that the sculpture does have negative connotations. However, the artist insists that the statue highlights the worldwide impact of the leader.
