dalai Beijing, Feb 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The relationship between US and China is far from smooth, and China warned the US, that if the US President Barack Obama goes ahead with his plan of meeting the Dalai Lama, then the relations between the two countries would only deteriorate further. According to reports, Dalai Lama is all set to visit the Washington DC on February 17-18 2010.

China has sternly said to the US administration on Friday that it ought to cancel the meeting between the President Barack Obama and the Dalai Lama. China has repeatedly warned US, that if the talks were held then they would hurt the ties between the 2 countries. “China firmly opposes the Dalai Lama visiting the United States and U.S. leaders’ contacting with him,” foreign ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu as saying.

It may be recalled that China has always pointed a finger at the Dalai Lama, for his stand on the Tibetan independence. And Dalai Lama has always denied this accusation, saying that it is untrue. China also wants that any country, which wants to have bilateral ties with it, should shun the Tibetan leader Dalai Lama.
