The son and daughters of ex-prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra voted at the Bang Plad district polling station and briefly addressed the reporters gathered to watch them log their ballots.

Mr Panthongtae, Ms. Pinthongta and Ms. Paethongtan Shinawatra cast their votes at the Consituency 12 or Bang Plad polling station, which is at Pimolwit School, in the early morning. They then gave succinct answers to the questions posed by the press that swarmed the station.

Ms. Pinthongta noted only that their father is homesick for the Kingdom and wishes to return home as soon as he can.

Her elder brother, Mr. Panthongtae, responded to a speech by People Power Party member, Chalerm Yubamroong, where it was claimed Dr. Thaksin would come back to Thailand on Valentine’s Day, saying that their father would return whenever he has the opportunity.

Their father, ousted premier Dr. Thaksin Shinawatra, was banned from voting in the election.
