Centre for fast resolution of Waqf property disputes
March 15th, 2011 - 9:59 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 15 (IANS) Minority Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid Tuesday said the central government was making all efforts to ensure that disputes related to properties of the Waqf board were resolved soon.
Replying to a debate in the Rajya Sabha, Khurshid said that he will write to all states to ensure that the cases related to properties of Waqf board were settled.
“We will write to the chief ministers,” Khurshid said, asking the members to help in speeding up resolving such cases.
Answering to the debate, which started Monday, Khurshid said that over Rs.21 crore have been given to the 15 point programme for upliftment of minorities.
He also said that government was paying particular attention on education for minorities and gave the example of the pre and post matric scholarship programme for minority students.
