CBI seeks court nod for Jagan aide’s narco test
January 25th, 2012 - 5:42 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Hyderabad, Jan 25 (IANS) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has sought a special court’s permission to conduct narco analysis test on Vijay Sai Reddy, an accused in the illegal assets case against YSR Congress party chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.
The CBI moved a petition before the special court dealing with the CBI cases, seeking its nod for conducting the test at Bangalore or Ahmedabad.
The court Wednesday adjourned the hearing on the petition to Jan 30 after Vijay Sai Reddy’s counsel sought time to file a counter.
Vijay Sai Reddy, a close aide and relative of Jaganmohan Reddy, was arrested by the CBI Jan 2.
Though he was questioned by the CBI many a time before and after his arrest, he is allegedly not revealing the facts.
The agency has told the court that unless Vijay Sai Reddy opens his mouth, it would be difficult to unravel the conspiracy.
The vice-president of Jagati Publications Private Limited (JPPL), owned by Jagan, has allegedly played a key role in floating of dozens of companies by Jagan and mobilising investments from various companies both in India and abroad.
Vijay Sai Reddy is the auditor of Jagan companies, including Telugu daily ‘Sakshi’ and the television channel by the same name.
He is the only accused arrested in the case since the CBI launched investigations in August last year.
The CBI booked Jagan and 72 others following a direction from the Andhra Pradesh High Court on the petitions of former state minister P. Shankar Rao and leaders of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
The MP from Kadapa is facing the allegation of conspiring with his late father Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy to roll out public assets in the form of mining licences, special economic zones, ports, and real estate permissions to unscrupulous investors who pumped in money into his companies on a quid-pro-quo basis.
Several companies and individual investors too have been included in the case as accused.
