Catch me on the web, says ModiSeptember 18th, 2008 - 9:13 pm ICT by IANS
Ahmedabad, Sep 18(IANS) The personal website of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has now been revamped into an interactive portal where people are invited to participate and contribute their inputs. Launched Wednesday on Modi’s 59th birthday, the website aims to create a platform for building a ‘Golden Gujarat’ by augmenting skills and inputs from different sections of the society; especially the youth who are more net savvy and have fresh inputs.
Narendra Modi, who calls himself the “humble servant of Gujarat”, now has thought it prudent to extend his philosophy to his website which has a “Participate” option. This unique innovation permits the public, students, youth, housewives and retired people to participate in governance.
If one is worried about corruption or has any other grievance like civic amenities failing to function all one has to do is click the mouse and “Participate”.
The direct access is aimed at integration of the citizen-chief minister feedback mechanism.
The website aimed at Common Man has a section “I am available”, which provides an option to “Interact with CM”. This section gives an opportunity to the visitor to ask questions to Modi that will be replied through text or video.
A visitor to the new-look website can access Modi’s speeches, photographs, selected quotes, statements, biography, publications, and insights into his ‘Panchamrut’ philosophy of good governance.
The new-look website’s download option is fully loaded with Modi ringtones, wallpapers and screen savers. It also has a section that encourages the youth and the retired from all walks of life to participate in the Swarnim Gujarat programme 2010 - a programme aimed to celebrate Gujarat’s 50 years of existence.
The website also has Narendra Modi’s blog, wherein the chief minister shares his views with others. This blog has the Modi answering queries from children to the elderly in both text and video format.
Another interesting feature is that the registered users of this website shall be updated with information through emails and SMS regularly.
