For Carly Fiorina it would be a shift from the chair of the CEO in a corporate MNC to a walk in the corridors of power.
The lady who used to be the CEO in Hewlett-Packard has bagged the nomination of the GOP for the US senate in the November race. She will battle with Democratic incumbent Barbara Boxer who is three times incumbent. Carly Fiorina managed to edge ahead of other contenders like Chuck DeVore and Tom Campbell.
She started her campaign on an aggressive note and said that the incumbent senator has talked much all these years but n has not delivered much.
Barbara Boxer has said that the fight is more about the measures to better the state’s economy. She also expressed her amazement over the fact that Carly Fiorina sees wrong in the climate-change legislation in California.
While the political analysts said Tom Campbell, a proponent of issues like same-sex marriage and abortion should have been the candidate for the GOP, he did not get the support from the conservatives. Carly Fiorina on the other hand has won the support of Sarah Palin. Her wealth turned the public support in her favor.
Reportedly she spent an amount of 5.5 million in the campaign. She questioned the record of Tom Campbell as the top economic adviser of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and pointed the fact that he helped craft a budget that led to tax hike- a move denounced by the conservative voters.
Tom Campbell said that he would support Carly Fiorina for the race.
However, he also expressed his concern since the voters are being moved more by the speeches of the candidates than their experiences.
