ph2010072604959 Oklahoma City, July date (THAINDIAN NEWS) A man who is running for the office of a district judge in Oklahoma is facing fierce opposition from not just anyone, but from his biological daughter.

The daughter - Jan Schill is campaigning to voters not to consider her father when they vote on Tuesday. She’s also teamed up with her husband to publish paid newspaper ads to tell residents that her dad is not a competent judge and hence is not good enough for the job.

John Mantooth was involved in a bitter divorce with his daughter’s mother and claims that his daughter has launched this campaign to seek revenge on him. He also claimed his son-in-law has close ties with one of his competitors in the election race and that could be another reason for their campaign.

Schill and her attorney husband have refuted those claims. Andrew Schill said that he’s worked with the judge in the past and wanted the community not to make the mistake of voting for him because of his bad record as a judge. He said revenge wasn’t on the agenda of their campaign. “It’s not the (strained) relationship that prompted this. She worked in the district attorney’s office in that district. I worked in the legal community and we just felt like we had to say something. It’s his record. This father-daughter thing is interesting, but that’s not the story,” according to Andrew Schill.

The couple who live in Durango have spent over $900 for the newspaper ads.
