cal The results of the California primary elections, for the Senate and the post of the Governor, were declared on June 8, 2010.

According to most of the observers, the results of the elections were not much contrary to expectations.

True to a trend that has been seen in almost every major and minor election all over the country, the Democrats suffered a terrible loss at the hands of their Republican counterparts, showing the alarmingly ever diminishing faith in the ruling party.

On the other hand, with the primary elections now being over, the country now has its sights set on the elections that are going to be held the coming fall.

However, not everything about the results of the California Primary election went was being expected, although the diversion was of a pleasant kind. Both the tickets for the Governor’s race and the U.S. Senate has been given to women from the Republican Party.

For one of them, Meg Whitman, this was the first time that she had run for a political office. The ticket for the Senate seat has been won by the former CEO of the Hewlett-Packard Company, Carly Fiorina. Meg Whitman will be facing Democratic incumbent Governor Jerry Brown, while Carly Fiorina will be facing Senator Barbara Boxer in the November elections.

However, it cannot be said that the next level of the elections are going to be as expected as this one. It is likely that the next level is going to be a tooth and nail fight, considering that it would be one of the final chances for the Democrats to turn the tables that have been going against them for a pretty long time.
