Budget is directionless, says Nitish Kumar
February 28th, 2011 - 6:41 pm ICT by IANSPatna, Feb 28 (IANS) The union budget was directionless and held nothing for the common man, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said here Monday. The Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader said there was no special package for Bihar despite repeatedly demands by the state government. “The budget has once again failed to offer anything special to Bihar. It is an injustice to the people of Bihar,” he told reporters.
Nitish Kumar said the budget would increase regional imbalances as there was no move to sort it out. “A state like Bihar deserves the special category status for its development and growth,” he said, adding that the budget was silent on the issue.
