Lucknow, June 4 (IANS) Mayawati’s close confidante and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) general secretary Satish Chandra Misra Friday declared his assets were to the tune of Rs.25 crore.
A detailed account of the assets officially held by him and his wife Kalpana was filed along with his nomination for another term in the Rajya Sabha. That makes Misra the richest among the seven BSP candidates who filed their nominations against the 11 Rajya Sabha seats from Uttar Pradesh falling vacant later this month.
Like Mayawati, Misra too owns several immovable properties, including residential and commercial plots and buildings in Delhi, Noida and Mumbai. However, the value shown against each of the properties prima facie appears to be considerably lower than the prevailing market rates.
He owns a bungalow in New Delhi’s posh Sundar Nagar whose market value has been shown as Rs.2.16 crore, while the two palatial bungalows in Lucknow’s posh Windsor Place are valued at Rs.1.40 crore and Rs.2.40 crore respectively.
Similarly, a 300-metre plot in Lucknow’s expensive Vipul Khand of Gomti Nagar has been described as worth Rs.43 lakh.
Two other plots in Windsor Place have been valued at Rs.97 lakh and Rs.32 lakh respectively, while two agricultural plots in Lucknow have been shown as worth Rs.46 lakh and Rs.13 lakh.
Misra’s plot measuring 450 sq metres in Noida’s prime sector 15 has been shown to be worth only Rs.2.10 crore, while a 203 sq metre space in a commercial complex in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla area has been valued at Rs.3.53 crore.
According to the declaration, the 1,050 sq feet shop that he owns in New Delhi’s Connaught Place was worth only Rs.38 lakh.
His wife is a co-owner in most of the immoveable properties, except for a three bigha plot of in Dadri, near Delhi which has been valued at a paltry Rs.14 lakh. The value of the rest of the properties in her name has been shown as just about the same as the ones in his own name.
