Rochdale, Apr 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) British Prime Minister Gordon Brown described a woman as ‘bigot’, when she asked him some deep questions on the problems that the country is facing such as the national debt and immigration. After meeting Gillian Duffy, he got into his car, and there he described the incident as a ‘disaster’ and also called the woman as a bigot. However the problem was that, his Sky News microphone was on, and a lot of people heard it when he said that, “That was a disaster they should never have put me with that woman. Whose idea was that? It’s just ridiculous . . .” Then he was asked that what had the woman said which upset him so much, then he said that, “Everything, she was just a bigoted woman.”
Later the Conservative Party made ample fun of his gaffe. They said that, “Gordon Brown’s comments speak for themselves.” And Gillian Duffy was also very upset and annoyed at the distasteful comment. She said that she wanted an apology.
Then the British PM Gordon Brown had no option but to visit the residence of Gillian Duffy and tender a personal apology. He also added that he is a “penitent sinner”.
