British MP - Mark Reckless apologizes for being too drunk to vote

London, July 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) British MP – Mark Reckless has apologized for being drunk and hence missing a vote on the Budget. The honest Kent MP confessed that he had drunk a lot, and so he thought that it was prudent that he refrain from voting on the budget.

Mark Reckless is one of the newer lot of MP’s who joined the House of Commons after the general elections that were held on the 6th of May. According to BBC Radio Kent, the Conservative MP said that, “I made a mistake. I’m really sorry about it. I’m terribly, terribly embarrassed. I apologise unreservedly and I don’t plan to drink again at Westminster.”

He also added that even though he was sloshed at that time, yet when some one asked him if he wanted to vote then he declined the offer, because of his drunken state. He also added that generally when he is in such a state, then he simply doesn’t do anything and just goes home.

He was very apologetic about drinking at Westminster and said in this regard that, “Westminster is a very special situation and all I can say… is given this very embarrassing experience I don’t intend to drink at Westminster again.”
