Brigitte Bardot May Run for President to Stop Muslim Ritual
October 19th, 2010 - 1:07 am ICT by Angela Kaye MasonOct 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Brigitte Bardot, who is known for her career in acting, and is now an animal rights activist has reportedly been asked by the Ecology Alliance party to run for president in the 2012 elections. The party is a major member in the campaign for animal rights and against the ritual slaughter of animals in Muslim religious ceremonies for halal meat.
The seventy-six year old who retired from acting in the 1970s has made it clear that she wants to have a law instated which will make it mandatory for animals to be placed under anesthesia before their throats are slit in the Muslim tradition in keeping with Islamic teaching.
In a letter to the current president of France, where she will run, Bardow told President Sarkozy that “someone’s voice is needed to defend animals as neither the Right nor the Left give a d***!” According to the ‘Associated Press’, adding, “Sarkozy took me for an imbecile by making promises he didn’t keep.”
