New Delhi, July 22 (IANS) Congress chief Sonia Gandhi’s political secretary Ahmed Patel Tuesday slammed allegations that he had tried to bribe three Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs in order to make them abstain in the crucial trust vote. “The allegations were made to impact the trust vote. Through me they wanted to scuttle the trust vote,” Patel told reporters. “My name was dragged in to malign the party.”
Three Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs flashed wads of notes in the Lok Sabha alleging that they were approached by Patel and the money was given by Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh to make them abstain from the floor test Tuesday.
