New Delhi, Nov 24 (IANS) Both houses of parliament were again adjourned Thursday as opposition members as well as Congress MPs from the Telangana region disrupted proceedings.
No substantial business has been transacted so far in the winter session, which began Nov 22.
The disruption began soon after the two houses met Thursday morning.
In the Lok Sabha, MPs from the Telangana region, including those from the Congress, rushed towards Speaker Meira Kumar’s podium and shouted slogans demanding separate statehood for the region. Some of them were carrying placards.
Several opposition members also moved to the podium raising the issue of rising prices. The speaker adjourned the house till noon.
The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till noon amid similar protests by opposition members.
This is the third consecutive day of bedlam in the Lok Sabha.
