New York, Nov 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) When Cathie Black’s recent appointment was announced, many people objected to the appointment. It now seems that some people cannot bring themselves to accept the appointment and as such are leaving. Photeine Anagnostopoulos and Elizabeth Sciabarra have left their appointments in protests.

Photeine Anagnostopoulos was the deputy chancellor for finance and technology in New York City while Elizabeth Sciabarra is the founder of the Office of Student Enrollment in the city. Cathie Black’s appointment has been met with many raised eyebrows and many have questioned why she was picked as the head of the educational system in the city.

However the city’s mayor, Bloomberg seems to have much confidence in her and despite all the protests that met her appointment, Bloomberg has declined to change her. Amongst those surprised are some of the city’s council members who argue that Black has no experience to bring to the education system in the city. Christine Quinn was however diplomatic with her views.

She said that, “This is the mayor’s choice, and the results are what people will be judged by, and the results are what will determine whether or not the city could have been better served”.
