BJP’s Lalji Tandon files nomination from LucknowApril 6th, 2009 - 10:19 pm ICT by IANS
Lucknow, April 6 (IANS) Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Uttar Pradesh minister Lalji Tandon Monday filed his nomination papers for the Lucknow parliamentary constituency, held by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for five successive terms.
“People here want to gift the prestigious seat to their ailing leader Atalji by supporting the BJP in Lucknow,” Tandon told reporters after filing nomination papers.
According to the affidavit submitted to the district magistrate, Tandon possesses movable properties worth nearly Rs.36,44,704 that includes cash, bank deposits, jewellery and an Ambassador car.
Likewise, Tandon’s wife has movable properties worth about Rs.30,33,435.
Tandon valued his immovable properties at Rs.94,40,000 that include non-agriculture land and a house here.
The immovable property registered in his wife’s name is worth Rs. 58,00,000 that include a house in the Nirala Nagar of Lucknow.
