BJP to file privilege motion against Dikshit

New Delhi, Nov 26 (IANS) The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Friday wrote to the Delhi assembly speaker’s office for moving a privilege motion against Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in the house.
Leader of Opposition Vijay Kumar Malhotra, in a letter to the secretary of the assembly, said Dikshit has violated Section 264 (2) (F) of the rules of procedure of conduct of the business of the house, leading to breach of privilege and contempt of the assembly.
The rule says that a member, while speaking, shall not reflect upon the conduct of the president or any governor or any court of justice.
Malhotra said while replying on a motion moved by legislator Mukesh Sharma Nov 25 on the issue of full statehood for Delhi, Dikshit had reflected upon the conduct of Lieutenant Governor Tejendra Khanna.
Dikshit Thursday said: “We are told if there is a government, it’s the Lieutenant Governor’s government… Cabinet meets every week, takes decisions and those are rejected because, we are told, government of Delhi means Lieutenant Governor of Delhi…toh kya hum hawa mein kaam kar rahe hain. (Are we are working in a vacuum).”
