New Delhi, July 23 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was meeting here Wednesday to consider action against its MPs who had violated a party whip and voted for the government on the trust vote it had sought in parliament Tuesday. The meeting, being attended by top party leaders, was being held at the residence of Leader of Opposition L.K. Advani.
It was not immediately clear whether action was being contemplated against six or eight MPs, BJP sources said.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s government won the vote of confidence 275/256, with many opposition MPs believed to have cross-voted in defiance of their party whips.
