New Delhi, Feb 10 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wednesday demanded the release of Sri Lanka’s former army chief Sarath Fonseka, who was arrested for allegedly conspiring to topple the government.
BJP leader Sushma Swaraj said in a statement: “As the world’s largest democracy we cannot approve of this, particularly when it is happening so close to us.
“We call upon President Mahinda Rajapaksa to ensure the safety and well-being of the opposition leader and request his release immediately.”
Fonseka spearheaded the final phase of military operations against the Tamil Tigers last year before unsuccessfully contesting in presidential election last month.
Fonseka was arrested Monday. According to the government, he has been accused of conspiring to topple the government and for creating divisions within the army when he was the commander.

Please put pressure on the Sri Lankan govt. for the release of General Sarath Fonseka. His detention is illegal and inhuman. See what has become of Sri Lanka under the regime of Mahinda Rajapakse and his brothers.

BJP when Mahinda Rajapakse called General Sarath Fonseka (the legitimate President of Sri Lanka)
Idi Amin, Pol Pot and Hitler actually he was referring to himself and his brothers. Their real names go like this.
1) Idi Amin Mahinda Rajapakse
2) Hitler Gotabaya Rajapakse
3) Pol Pot Basil Rajapakse
4) Saddam Chamal Rajapakse
So when you address any one of them please don’t forget to use their full names or they may get offended.

Mahinda has stole the election from the retired General and now want to kill him or jail him for a long time in order to enjoy luxury lives of himself and his thieves. Why in-human Mahinda is so scared of Sarath Fonseka? If you have won election genuinely, let the media personal to do their jobs freely. MR go buy more arms just to enrich your family and friends with 10% or 15% commissions. Why in the hell our country need more weapons? We do not need more weapons since we don’t have a war any more thank to retired General Sarath Fonseka. Now get rid of Sarath Fonseka so you be a king for another 15 years or so. You and your family will suffer the same fate as Sadham Hussein had. Now we see true MAHINDA CHINTANA. Please spend/invest money on poor and suffering people to improve their lives, not weapons to kill them.

BJP should know that Sri Lanka is not a state of India. If he has commited some crimes he should be unished. Sri Lanka has more democracy than India. You have no right to interfere their internal matters. Better mind your business.
