Mumbai, Jan 21 (IANS) Alleging that the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leaders have lured voters to attend a rally in Maharashtra’s Beed district, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Saturday registered a complaint with the state election commission citing violation of the code of conduct.
“The NCP lured voters to attend an election rally at Parli (town in Beed district) earlier this week, led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar,” State BJP chief Sudhir Mungantiwar told reporters here.
Mungantiwar also submitted a CD to Election Commissioner Neela Satyanarayan containing footage from a private television channel to justify his allegation.
“Pawar has made certain promises regarding development of Parli in his speech at the rally. We have called for action against Pawar and other NCP leaders who attended the rally,” Mungantiwar said.
“We will move court if the election commission fails to take action against these NCP leaders,” he added.
