New Delhi, Sep 30 (IANS) Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani’s anti-corruption ‘yatra’ (march) will be the focus at the party’s two-day national executive meet that begins here Friday.
The meet will be attended by the party’s chief ministers and leaders from all states, party sources said.
But the party’s chief minister from Gujarat, Narendra Modi, is likely to miss it.
While speculation is rife about differences between Advani and Modi, the BJP denies any rift between them.
The official party version from Gujarat is that Modi is “busy with Navratra festival”.
Finalising the roadmap for Advani’s ‘jan chetna yatra’ or public awareness tour will be the main focus of the meet. The ‘yatra’, which begins Oct 11 from Bihar, will go to 18 states and two union territories.
Issues like the economic situation and rising corruption will also be taken up at the meet, party sources said.
