BJP misleading people over Amarnath land row: ministerJuly 8th, 2008 - 12:59 am ICT by IANS
Lucknow, July 7 (IANS) Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Sri Prakash Jaiswal Monday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of misleading the people and triggering communal clashes in the country over the Jammu and Kashmir government’s decision to cancel land allotment to the Amarnath shrine managemnt. “BJP with its allies has given a political colour to the issue just to gain political mileage,” Jaiswal told reporters here.
“They (BJP leaders) are destabilising the peace by misguiding people over the cancellation of the land earlier allotted to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.”
“The BJP is concealing the fact that the Jammu and Kashmir government has already sanctioned infrastructure to be built at four other places in the state for the Amarnath pilgrims soon after cancelling the allotment of land,” said Jaiswal.
In lieu of the forest land, the government has sanctioned infrastructures to be built at places in Pahalgam, Chandanwadi, Amarnath and Baltal.
“However, the BJP and its allies are not highlighting this fact as they want to see communal clashes in the country.”
